Dieser Tauchplatz liegt östlich von Kuredu und befindet sich inmitten eines großen Kanals. Es hängt sehr von der Stärke der Strömung ab, ob wir diesen Platz betauchen können oder nicht. Bei schwacher Strömung jedoch können wir uns einfach aufs Topriff herunter lassen, welches in ca. 5 Metern liegt. Danach fällt das Riff leicht ab bis auf den Atollboden in ca. 20 Metern. Hier findet Ihr eine große Sandfläche mit vielen Gartenaalen und mit etwas Glück auch Weisspitzenriffhaie, welche im Sand ruhen. Aber auch Stachelrochen kann man hier beim fressen beobachten.
Das Giri ist jedoch besonders eine Heimat für alle Arten von Jungfischen und die vielen kleinen und großen Korallenblöcke sind dicht besiedelt mit Glasfischen, Muränen, Fangschreckenkrebsen und Feuerfischen. Napoleons halten sich hier auch gerne auf, sowie große Schulen von Füsilieren. Ein Teil des Giris ist dicht besiedelt mit Lederkorallen und vielen verschiedenen Arten von Weichkorallen. Es ist sehr wichtig, dass Ihr Euch Zeit lasst für diesen Tauchplatz, da es sehr einfach ist interessante Dinge zu übersehen.

This dive site is located east of Kuredu Island Resort and lies in the middle of a big Channel. It is therefore very much influenced by the currents and we advise to dive this giri only with a small current.
It is the home of a large amount of juvenile fish and other small creatures. You will find the top reef in about 5 meters and it gently slopes down to about 20 meters to a large sandy area. Here you have always a good chance to see white tip reef sharks resting in the sand, Garden eels swaying in the current and even stingrays feeding on mollusks. How ever the giri is covered with large and small coral blocks which themselves are covered with glass fish. Look out for lion fish and Mantis Shrimp. Napoleons often swim by and large schools of fusiliers can be seen. Some areas are covered with leather corals and soft corals. It is very important that you take yourselves time for this Giri, as it is easy to overlook the most interesting small fish life.
