Dieser Tauchplatz befindet sich östlich von der Insel Kuredu und liegt am Außenriff sowie im Kanal. Wie der Name schon verspricht kann am Express sehr starke Strömung vorgefunden werden. Jedoch kommt es auch vor, dass überhaupt keine vorhanden ist. Die Strömung kann hier jedoch sehr schnell wechseln, daher ist es immer ratsam auf Änderungen zu achten. Mit einer auslaufenden mittelstarken Strömung kannst Du aus dem Kanal in Richtung Außenriff tauchen. Das Topriff liegt hier in 5-7m und fällt langsam auf den Kanalboden in ca. 25 m ab. Beim Abtauchen in den Kanal findest Du Terrassen in unterschiedlichen Tiefen. In diesen kleinen Überhängen kannst Du durchaus auf Stachelrochen treffen, aber auch Makrelen und Schnappern halten sich dort gerne auf. Gleich beim abtauchen solltest Du schon öfters ein Blick ins Blauwasser werfen. Oft kann man hier Grauhaien, Adlerrochen, Barrakudas und Thunfischen begegnen. Weiter in Richtung Ecke des Kanals wird der Boden sehr sandig und fällt langsam weiter ab. Hier empfehlen wir sehr auf den Tiefenmeter zu achten, da es sehr verführerisch ist einfach dem Boden weiter hinaus zu folgen. Dieser geht über die 30 m Marke weit hinaus. Auch ist darauf zu achten sich nicht zu weit von der Ecke aufzuhalten. Je nach Strömung ist es sehr schwierig wieder zum Riff zurück zu kommen.
An der Ecke sind auf dem sandigen Boden viele grüne Korallenbäume auf ca. 25m zu sehen. Hier kann man immer wieder Napoleons und Netzmuränen sehen. Sobald Du ans Außenriff kommst, fällt dieses wieder steil ab. Hier wirst Du auch gleich den ersten Überhang entdecken. Dieser ist sehr interessant und die beste Tiefe ist in ca. 15m. Hier gibt es einen großen Fischreichtum, der von schönen Korallenstöcken und Gorgonien untermalt wird; Ideal natürlich für unsere U/W Fotografen. Wenn Du nun den ersten Überhang verlässt und an der steil abfallenden Riffkante entlang schwimmst, findest Du gleich noch einen größeren Überhang. Auch dieser ist mit sehr verschiedenen Korallenarten bewachsen und sehr reich an verschiedenen Lebensformen. Am Ende dieses Überhangs findest Du eine Art Canyon in welchem sich oft Hummer und andere Krebstiere verstecken. Express ist Teil eines National Parks und wir möchten Euch darauf aufmerksam machen diesen Tauchplatz als solchen zu schützen. Wir bitten Euch darauf zu achten diesen Platz so zu verlassen, wie Ihr ihn vorgefunden habt. Kuredu Express ist ein super interessanter Tauchplatz, der mehrmals betaucht werden kann und er sich immer wieder von einer neuen Seite zeigen kann.

This dive site is situated on the eastside of Kuredu Island Resort and stretches from the channel all the way to the outreef. Express can be dived with different currents. As the name already mentions you can find some really strong currents here, although it also happens that there is almost none. With a small or medium out going current we usually start in the channel. The top reef in the channel lies in 5-7 m and there you will find terraces in different depths going down to the channel bottom in about 25 m. The terraces are usually covered with jack fish, large schools of snappers and stingrays are found sleeping in the overhangs. As you approach the corner it is important to look out into blue water as you might spot grey sharks, barracudas, stingrays, eagle rays and some big tunas. After the terraces the reef becomes sandy and drops into the channel with a slow gradient. Here we recommend watching your depth gauge closely as you can easily drop down to 30 m and more! Be careful with an outgoing not swim too far out into the channel, as it may become difficult to come back to the corner. The corner leading onto the outreef is a large sandy terrace on 25m. Green coral trees are abundant here. Often honeycomb morays; napoleon and different types of lionfish are to be found on the reef. As you reach the overhangs on the outreef, the drop off in this terrace formation seems to drop to infinity. Here the most interesting part is in around 15m. At the first overhang you will find big schools of banded butterfly fish with nice gorgonians hanging on the wall. This is an excellent opportunity for photographers. Sometimes if the current allows you can easily spend your entire dive in the overhangs.
Leaving the first overhang, the reef will drop down as a wall and you will enter the second overhang. This is the larger one of the two and you can find carpet anemones with porcelain crabs, turtles eating on the reef, different coloured soft corals, as well as nudibranches and black cheek morays. At the end of this overhang you will find very interesting reef formation, as it looks like the reef cracked and left a small canyon. Here lobster can be found in the crevices and all sorts of reef creatures. This dive site is part of a national park and is therefore protected! Please watch where you hold on and where you put your fins. When watching the grey sharks take care of your position on the reef. This is a most excellent dive and can be dived several times, always showing another face!
