Kanuhura Corner befindet sich im Osten des Atolls und liegt direkt vor der Touristeninsel One&Only Kanuhura. Dieser Tauchplatz ist ideal für einlaufende, aber auch auslaufende Strömung. Tauchst Du mit dem Riff an der rechten Schulter und mit einlaufender Strömung in den Kanal, so wirst Du gleich am Anfang von den Flemings Doktor Fischen begrüßt, die mit Deinen Blasen und Haaren spielen. Sei vorsichtig und verscheuche diese Fische nicht, sie haben sehr scharfe Skalpelle an den Schwanzflossen.
Das Außenriff fällt steil ab und es sind sehr viele sandige Flächen zu sehen, die wiederum ins "Nichts" abfallen. Das Topriff ist hier ca. 8-5 m tief. Je näher Du zu der Ecke hinkommst, desto mehr leicht abfallende Terrassen findest Du auf welchen sehr schöne Korallenblöcke zu sehen sind. Im Blauwasser kannst Du oft Adlerrochen, Grauhaie und große Thunfische entdecken. An der Ecke selbst gibt es viele kleinen Sachen zu entdecken, wie Skorpionsfische, Nacktschnecken und kleine Blenniiden. Viele Wimpelfische zeigen die Ecke an, gefolgt von sandigen Flächen auf welchen es gut möglich ist, schlafende Stachelrochen zu finden. Mit einer sehr schwachen Strömung, kannst Du noch kurz an der Kanalkante entlang ins Blauwasser schwimmen. Sei aber vorsichtig mit Deiner Nullzeit. Der Kanal ist hier sehr tief und liegt zwischen 35-40m. Wenn Du in den Kanal zurück tauchst, denke daran, das sich das Riff auf der rechten Seite befinden sollte. Der Sicherheitsstopp ist ein Erlebnis, da das Topriff sehr schön ist und es viel zu entdecken gibt. Nimm Dir auf jeden Fall Zeit und genieße das Austauchen.

Kanuhura is situated on the East side of the Lhaviyani Atoll, next to the island of Kanuhura. It is an out reef that runs into a channel. This dive site is ideal for both an ingoing or outgoing current. Diving with an in going current we start along the out reef with the reef on our right shoulder. Right at the beginning you will be greeted by Flemings Surgeon Fish. They come very close to your mask and swim around you enjoying the exhalation bubbles. Be careful and do not frighten them away as they are called Surgeon Fish for a reason.
The out reef drops down onto a sandy ledge and in some areas it drops straight down to infinity. The top reef right throughout your dive is shallow between 8m up to 5 m. Closer to the corner you will find large coral blocks where you can find all different kinds of morays and lots of schooling fish. Along the wall on the out reef you can often find eagle rays, tunas and at times grey sharks swimming by. On this dive site other types of larger shark species have also been seen. The channel corner becomes visible as you can see banner fish in a large schools and the channel edge becomes sandy. At times stingrays are resting on the bottom. If there is a small current it is ideal to swim out along the channel edge. Be careful of your bottom time at this stage of the dive. The channel is between 35 and 40m so we will have to swim in the blue. Turning around you will swim back to the reef and dive into the channel with the reef still on your right side. At any time throughout your dive, the top reef is excellent for safety stops. This is a wonderful dive with a variety of fish life and it is important not to rush your dive. Have fun.
