Kuda Kandu ist ein kleiner Kanal (in Dhivehi heißt Kuda klein) und liegt auf der Ostseite des Atolls. Diesen Tauchplatz kann man mit einer ausgehender Strömung betauchen, ist aber ideal mit einer einlaufender Strömung. Wir starten am Außenriff mit dem Topriff in ca. 7 m und schwimmen in Richtung Kanal in ca. 18 Meter Tiefe. Sobald wir die Kanalkante erreicht haben, werden wir die Überquerung in ca. 25 Metern beginnen je nach Strömung. Im Kanal selber werdet Ihr in größerer Tiefe viele Überhänge sehen, die wir von oben beobachten müssen, da sie zu tief sind. Während wir aber den Kanal überqueren, haltet Ausschau nach großen Thunfischen, Adlerrochen und auch grauen Riffhaien. Schaut aber auch manchmal hinter Euch in den Kanal, da sich dort auch gerne große Napoleons und Schulen von Barrakudas tummeln. Nachdem wir den Kanal fast ganz überquert haben, werden wir umdrehen und uns in den Kanal selbst hineintreiben lassen. Dort werden wir 2 Thilas finden, welche in ca. 15 Metern liegen. Diese sind bedeckt mit kleinen Korallenblöcken und bieten vielen Fischen eine Heimat. Schaut genauer und Ihr werdet neben den Netzmuränen auch viele Nacktschnecken und Federsterne finden. Beobachtet die Federsterne genauer, denn manchmal kann man darin auch kleine Springkrebse entdecken. Wir schwimmen über die Thilas im Zickzack und gegen Ende des Tauchganges werden wir hinüber zum Topriff tauchen, wo Ihr dann gemütlich in 5 Metern Euren Sicherheitsstopp machen könnt. Sollte dies nicht klappen, so ist es auch einfach sich weiter ins Atoll treiben zu lassen und den Sicherheitsstopp im Blauen zu machen. Kuda Kandu ist ein sehr abwechslungsreicher Tauchgang!

Kuda Kandu is a small (kuda means small in divehi) channel situated on the east side of the atoll. This dive site can be dived with a small outgoing current, but ideal to dive with an in going current. We start on the out reef, where you will find the top reef in 5 - 7 meters. We drop down towards the channel to a depth of about 18 meters. Once we reach the channel edge we will swim along the edge in about 25 m, depending on the current. You will find lots of overhangs deeper down; check them out from above as they are too deep. Along the channel edge watch out for big tunas, eagle rays and grey reef sharks. But also look around you as you can see big Napoleons in the channel and sometimes stingrays on the bottom. We will cross the channel almost to the other side before we turn around to let ourselves drift into the channel itself. Her you will find two thilas in a depth of about 15 meters. They are covered with teeming fish life and small coral blocks. Have a closer look and you will find honey comb morays, nudibranches, lots of feather stars etc. If the current allows, have a closer look at the feather stars as you can sometimes find little squad lobsters in them. We criss-cross the thilas and towards the end of the dive we will try to swim over to the top reef, where you can easily do your safety stop in 5 meters and check out big schools of snappers. However should we not end up on the top reef we can finish the dive drifting into the atoll and make our safety stop in the blue. This is a very diverse dive site with lots to see
