2. Protect the Maldives Jahreshauptversammlung und Malediven-Treffen in Zürich

Am 1. Oktober 2005 kamen zur 2. Jahreshauptversammlung des eingetragenen gemeinnützigen Vereines Protect the Maldives und zum anschließenden Malediven-Treffen viele Mitglieder und Malediven-Fans. Da die Meisten schon am Tag zuvor in Zürich eingetroffen waren, wurde der erste Tag ausgiebig zur Besichtigung von Züricher Altstadt und zum Shoppen in den exquisiten (und teuren) Geschäften in der Bahnhofstraße benutzt (Foto 1 bis 3).
Am Samstag hatte Mare eine Reiseführerin für uns organisiert und so fuhren wir mit der Straßenbahn (Foto 4) zum Hauptbahnhof, wo uns Mare und ihr Mann bereits mit einem Glas Sekt begrüßte. Vom Bahnhof aus führte uns die Reiseleiterin dann durch die wunderschöne Altstadt von Zürich (Foto 5 bis 9). Nach einem Besuch in der Frauenmünsterkirche (Foto 10) mit den berühmten 5 Glasfenstern von Marc Chagall (Foto 11), unternahmen wir dann eine Schifffahrt auf dem Zürichsee (Foto 12 und 13).
Am Abend fuhren wir dann in das Restaurant Muggenbühl, das Heinz und Markus für uns als Malediven-Treff organisiert hatten. Nach der 2. Jahreshauptversammlung (die 1. fand 2004 in Wien statt), bei der wieder Maledivo als 1. Präsident und Markus und Mungo7 als Vizepräsidenten, sowohl Joern als Schriftführer und Delphin als Kassenwart gewählt wurden. Ab 18 Uhr begann dann in einem wunderschönen Saal des Restaurants das Malediven-Treffen mit einem hervorragenden Buffet (Foto 14 bis 20) und von meinen zahlreichen auf DVD gebrannten Videos von Equator Village Gan, Ellaidhoo, Komandoo und Reethi Beach musste ich nur mehr wenige wieder mit nach Hause nehmen (ein paar Videofilme habe ich allerdings noch!). Um den Kontostand des Vereines wieder etwas aufzubessern, ging der komplette Verkaufspreis als Spende an Protect the Maldives!

2nd Protect the Maldives General meeting and Maldives meeting in Zurich

To the 2nd annual general meeting of the registered charitable organization Protect the Maldives and to the following Maldives meeting on October 1st 2005 came many members and Maldives fans. Since the mosts had already arrived in Zurich the day before, was the first day used for the visit to the Zurich old town and for shopping in the exquisite (and expensive) business substantially in the Bahnhofstraße (photo 1 to 3).
On Saturday Mare had organized a courier for us and so we went by tramway (photo 4) to the Hauptbahnhof, where we are welcomed of Mare and her husband with a glass of champagne. From the station the courier led us by the lovely old town of Zurich (photo 5 to 9). After a visit in the Frauenmünster church (photo 10) with the famous 5 glass windows of Marc Chagall (photo 11) we did a cruise on the Zurich lake (photo 12 and 13).
In the evening we drive to the restaurant Muggenbühl which had Heinz and Markus organized for us for the Maldives meeting. After the 2nd annual general meeting (the 1st took place in Vienna in 2004), Maledivo were again elected as 1st president and Markus and Mungo7 as vice-presidents, as well as Joern as secretary and Delphin as a treasurer. As of 6 p.m the Maldivs meeting started with an excellent buffet in a lovely hall of the restauran (photo 14 to 20) and of my numerous videos on DVD of Equator Village Gan, Ellaidhoo, Komandoo and Reethi Beach I had only more to take some with home again (I still have a couple of video films, though!). To improve the bank balance of the organization Protect the Maldives a little again, the complete selling price comes as a donation to Protect the Maldives!
